Last Update 11.4.08
The Belgian website Rootstime.be
did a review of "To The Bone". Here it is(translated from
Dutch):
The heavier work. Mighty Orq is a Texan rock
trio that moves on the edge of bluesrock and pop. Mighty Orq is
the guitarist and singer, is the Mark White bassist and the drummer
Matt Johnson. Although they tell themselves to be inspired by the
Arc Angels, the continuation of Stevie Ray Vaughan's Double Trouble
with Doyle Bramhall! and Charlie Sexton, they sound more like Led
Zeppelin, Cream and aanverwanten.Ze names come from Houston and
this CD in Dover, New Jersey.in five sessions of each 16 hours nonstop.
"Falling Down" opens the CD and is indeed what inspired
Arc Angels, with a sprinkling of Govt Mule. Sometimes, however,
there are also some quieter off as "Rainy Day", an attempt
in the direction of artists like John Mayer. Beautiful song incidentally,
Mighty Orq is a strong singer with a melodic, smooth voice that
runs counter to the rugged sound of the band, but there is still
wonderfully in blends. Dan "Ho", not just hose interjection
for ..., you know, you've heard enough rappers on MTV. Phrases like
"You were always good on you knees" should remove all
doubts. Good for what Billy Gibbons-like guitar work also. In "Set
Me Free" and especially "Hangin 'On" even more Govt
Mule / Zeppelin riffs, the power trio at its best. In "Blue
Eyes" take them back, however, unexpectedly full gas, is back
in the direction of John Mayer, and Mighty's voice comes back to
100% to his right. In "The Good Love", the most bluesy
song on the CD, is Govt Mule, (I fall in repetition) quite inspiring,
with great slide passages, which appear to be in the live versions
"over the top" go. In the valve "Scars" that
slide remain prominent, this time in their own words in the liner
notes, inspired by Louisiana's best slide guitarist (and for me
far beyond) Sonny Landreth. Highly recommended for fans of Zeppelin,
Cream and other above-mentioned jam band. Quality assured.

The German website www.rocktimes.de
has a great review of our new album To The Bone. Below is a translated
version. Click HERE
to visit their website and read it for yourself(if you are fluent
in German).
From Rocktimes.de:
The guitar wizards The Mighty Orq continues to rock
on the best blues in the power trio played. On Milk Money still
zupfte Jessica Will the thick strings. Now, those West Side Johnny
Part.
Three relics from the period with the woman on bass, there is on
the current CD "To The Bone" because of "Rainy Day",
"Set Me Free" and "If You Will" she had the
finger at songwriting in the game.
"Rainy Day", with its trendy (yes read it correctly) bonds
probably the exception rather conglomerate in the other tracks.
Because of the distorted guitar album yet.
"Set Me Free" shows that much more accurately, where it
is on this plate is long: Fetzig riffige guitar by Mighty Orq. "To
The Bone" is a true lesson in reefs.
Rarely do I have what it Riffing, variety and so much joy when listening
to a CD had. Logical way, the razor solos of the protagonists not
None. "If You Will" is a great guitar performance and
with a driving groove from West Side Johnny's work device unterfüttert.
Well-placed breaks are Aufgalopp for a galaktisches guitar solo.
Yes, yes, the title can already guess: "Blue Eyes" is
a beautiful ballad, in the voice Mightys particularly good effect.
It covers a wide spectrum with his vocal chords.
You can hardly believe, but there is "To The Bone" not
a single sound of keyboard musical instruments. The guitarist needs
for his work device of some equipment on the ground, because of
that slow-rockers also keyboard similarities to the ears. Class!
After the band the listener really nice eingelullt has become a
pede stante but in reality brought back. "4 + 1" is in
the best Boogie ZZ Top-style. "Honey, let me see your wild
side…" A hammer, this track and, for the heftigere department
of the album, Anspieltipp!
The number bluesigste definitely follows with "The Good Love".
Lupft This is the accelerator for just under four minutes. Has the
Mighty Orq bold guitar sound! The bass blubbert temporarily to the
bottom Sole and Matt Johnson taktet excellent. The use of the pool
is schnalzen tongue. And then touches the name to the group on the
Bottleneck and slidet with alienation effects on the first strings.
The last track, "Scars", offers the listener a further
slide deposit of the musician from Houston. However, different as
"The Good Love". Mighty Orqs guitar sounds in total quiet
held very melodious song and a little swampy.
A great final round for a great album with the band a big step forward.
"To The Bone" is mature, like a good malt whisky. Despite
the title "Different This Time"….
Representing the lush Riffing on existing CD should be "Hangin
'On" Gemüte, because that says it all.
The Mighty Orq have an excellent successor to "Milk Money"
on the legs.
Not without reason should also be mentioned Ben Elliott, whose show
was Place Studios. The man has been as a producer musicians such
as Hubert Sumlin,
Savoy Brown or Leslie West under his wing and had also "To
The Bone regulated."
Convincing as the Mighty Orq group to understand in 51 minutes without
problem areas to maintain.
There are adequate 8 of 10 Rock Times-watches and provides new fans

The fine folks at Backbeat.us
wrote some very kind words regarding us. Check them out by clicking
on the link above, or just read on:
"...these guys really are absolutely AMAZING to hear
live. "Ork", as the lead singer apparently goes by, has
such a smooth and thick voice - like molasses rolled in smoke. He
glides in and out of R&B and blues and rock so smoothly that
I just can't imagine he doesn't have at least a dozen pairs of wet
panties laying at the foot of the stage at the end of every night.
But don't let us overlook his fantastic guitar work. You know a
person has mastered a musical instrument when they no longer look
like they're playing an instrument, rather, they simply look like
they're coercing the music out of it instead. As a cowboy leans
slightly in his saddle, gently pulling the reigns, and the beast
and master head as one in a new direction, the guitar master effortlessly
and subtly coaxes the music that he wants from his guitar. Such
is The Mighty Orq."
We have received final mixes of our

that need to be made. We promise we will have some new music up

Last Update--8/31/06
SCROLL DOWN FOR THIS WEEK'S SHOWS!
The Mighty Orq has a nice article in The Houston
Press this week. Big ups go out to Mr. John Lomax. Click HERE
to read it on their site, or just read it on ours; here it is:
You know, it has become fashionable in some quarters,
even here in Texas and even among some who profess to love the blues,
to hate on Stevie Ray Vaughan. There's a whiff of bourgeois classism
to some of this -- middle-class hipsters hold bikers in equal measures
of fear and disdain and hate jocks, and bikers and jocks make up
a healthy chunk of the blues-rock audience.
On musical grounds, though, you can somewhat see the haters' point:
After all, what does even a grade-A Texas blues-rock power trio,
or any guitar-based trio, for that matter, have to offer that hasn't
been done a thousand times before, by either Stevie or ZZ Top or
any number of lesser fry? And haven't we heard enough of this sort
of thing? Hell, eight or nine years ago you couldn't swing a cat
without hitting three or four "next Stevie Ray!" blooze
shredders -- one Internet wag dubbed the lot of them "teenaged
Blondy McPentatonics."
If your answer to those questions is "absolutely
nothing" and "hell yes," you owe it to yourself to
try the following experiment. Go to a bar. Drink two Lone Stars.
Slam a shot of Don Julio tequila. Suck on a lime. And then go over
to the jukebox and dial up "Cold Shot," "Just Got
Paid" and "Texas Flood." Or just drive over to the
Big Easy some Monday night and check out the Mighty Orq.
In either case, if you divorce yourself from your
hipster conditioning and live in that moment, you'll be pleasantly
surprised. It happened to me this past year at South By Southwest
in Austin -- Stevie Ray was playing on the speakers between sets
of a couple of new and trendy bands, and he was blowing them away
from beyond the grave. I felt the piercing stabs of the guitar and
the soul-drenched vocals and thudding punches of the rhythm section,
and I realized then that fashion doesn't matter. As the booze warmed
my belly and the music roared, I could see the room lift, and I
realized that 99 times out of 100, all that racket and hype from
the labels is meaningless. The vapid music bloggers touting the
latest lame reiteration of Joy Division, Pitchfork's latest find
that the indie sheeple hive-mind simultaneously adopts as one, and
the scribes for the trendy music rags and their absurd second comings
of the Velvet Underground -- it's almost always all as triflin',
bitchy and shallow as the world of catwalk fashion.
People think fashion-rock. They calculate and take
positions on bands, based on some theory of theirs that has nothing
to do with music and everything to do with some bizarre notion of
hipster cred.
On the other hand, people simply feel blues-rock.
And blues-rock, especially that produced by the Mighty Orq, feels
mighty, mighty good, especially in the Big Easy on a Monday -- as
sweet and natural and organic to this habitat as the sound of seagulls
laughing does at the beach. Along with honky-tonk, it is the official
sound of the rapidly disappearing world of two-fisted, hard-drinking
Anglo, urban and suburban, blue-collar Texas, and Orq is one guy
who's bringing something new to the table.
The long-haired, bearded, 27-year-old Orq starts
this set pretty early. He takes the stage around 9:30 to deliver
a set of Robert Johnson-style solo acoustic slide-guitar blues.
Orq, born Joshua Davidson, plays a National Reso-Phonic guitar in
this setting, and he is as masterful at it as anybody in Texas right
now. Unlike so many young blues players, Orq knows how to relax.
His playing, while fast at times, is never show-offy or forced,
and his singing is just as laid-back, but more on that later.
At about 11, the other two components of the trio
-- skinny bassist Westside Johnny and bearded, doo-ragged drummer
Matt Johnson -- join him on the stage. Orq packs up the Reso-Phonic
and whips out a Stratocaster and proceeds to kick ass. His originals
-- especially show-stoppers like "Unholy Getdown" and
the Zeppelin-esque "Sweet In-Between" -- show off excellent
arranging skills. The band is big on crescendos and soaring passages,
and the riffs sear their way onto your brain. My only complaint
is that the guitar can get somewhat buried in the mix under the
bass and especially the drums.
The one thing that sets apart the good blues-rock
from the great is the vocals. Orq is that rare singer who is blessed
with a good set of pipes and also knows how to use them. In my view,
there are precious few great white blues-rock singers. Gregg Allman
and, less so, Billy Gibbons are two, and Orq's nicotine-stained,
tequila-coated baritone is similar to theirs, both tonally and in
that he doesn't overemote.
Orq, who got his start as a sideman for Tony Vega,
has internalized the key concept of playing any blues-based music:
It ain't always what you play. Just as often it's what you don't,
the space you leave between the notes.
"I think for a long time, I did kinda sing a
little wild," Orq says after the show. "Singing's weird.
Eventually you learn to use what you have. You've got to take what
you have and then work with it enough to learn what you can and
can't do. I learned a lot about doing that from guys like Stevie
Wonder [Orq covers his 'I Believe'] and Martin Sexton."
You can really hear his development on the band's
three CDs: 2002's acoustic-heavy Prayer Book, 2003's live album
Ghost Train and last year's Milk Money. The band's fourth disc is
slated for release early next year.
On stage, Orq loves to show off his sense of humor,
which is a huge factor that sets him apart from the pack. Snippets
of "My Woman from Tokyo" are sprinkled through one of
his acoustic numbers (drawing a holler of "Kentucky Woman!"
from one confused Deep Purple fan), and he opens the band's closing
set with a two-bass/drum tribute to Spinal Tap with "Fat Bottom."
And to top it all, earlier on, after strumming out the opening wa-wa
pedal notes to the overfamiliar Stevie Ray/Jimi Hendrix chestnut
"Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)," he segues sweetly into
Prince's slinky 1986 funk hit "Kiss," changing the lyrics
from "You don't have to watch Dynasty" to "You don't
have to watch The O.C. " along the way.
Orq says the inspiration to take on the Purple One
came from Jessica Will, the band's founding bassist who left the
group last year after having a son. (Under her birth name of Jessica
Buchheit she took home HP Music Awards Best Bassist honors in 2001
while she and Orq were both with the Tony Vega Band.) "She
came up with the idea to play that song, and then I came up with
the idea to add the intro to 'Voodoo Chile.' I just thought it would
be funny to take one of these songs that is just so familiar to
the white-boy blues-rock world and take it in a totally unexpected
direction."
Burger Time
There's another lighthearted trip into a totally
unexpected direction on the Mighty Orq's blog on their official
Web site. There, bassist and hamburger connoisseur Westside Johnny
expounds on the merits of the various burgers he's come across,
at great length and in astounding detail. So far, he's chomped 'em
down at the Hobbit Cafe, the Hideaway and all over Lubbock, and
judging by the response from his fans, he'll probably be adding
a lot more.
We mentioned something about "astounding detail."
To show you what we mean, here's a snippet from his review of Papa's
on Stella Link: "Their patties are thin but very well seasoned
and still a little juicy. The cheese was plain ol' American sliced
cheese. The bun is a standout, it's a fresh bakery style roll with
a perfectly browned top/egg white glaze sheen to it. They grill
the bun and it has a great buttery flavor. The lettuce is very finely
shredded and the tomato is also wafer thin but ripe. I think the
onions were very thin whole rings in good proportion. There are
a few pickles and less mustard than mayo (I asked for both). I believe
the mayo was underneath the top bun followed by tomato, onion, lettuce,
pickles, meat, cheese, mustard, bottom bun. The mayonnaise was either
a premium variety or freshly made -- awesome.
"The burger's ingredients are well dispersed
and except for some lettuce spillage the sandwich stays together
pretty well and is neat/portable by burger standards."
Funny. You could say pretty much the same thing about
Orq's trio. The ingredients are well dispersed, the band stays together
very well, and they are both neat and very portable by band standards.
They have a pretty good circuit built up in Texas and over in Germany
and the Netherlands, where they've racked up quite a few rave CD
reviews.
Now if only they can whip that lettuce spillage problem...

folks at Houston Fair have included us on their latest compilation
CD. You can check out their website HERE.
This is what they had to say regarding little ole' us:
With attitude, energy and a flair for the dramatic, The
Mighty Orq falls somewhere in between hard rock, country, blues,
and folk. No exception to their hallmark sense of style, Sweet In-between
boasts some of the band's most diverse melodic expression. With
a soulful lead singer who, like Eric Clapton, you'd recognize anywhere,
drums that drive the listener to groove along, and guitar riffs
reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Mighty Orq
breathe life and attitude into their music. Sweet In-between is
a song of which we can proudly say, that (unless big record label
bureaucrats see the light) will never be played 200 times per day
on a corporate radio station - it's just too creative! Clapton,
Hendrix, and Vaughn fans beware: The Mighty Orq is addictive.
In more news, we will be starting to play as a full
band on Monday nights at The
Big Easy. These shenanigans begin on May 8th and continue until
the end of time. So mark your calendars!
We are heading to College Station on Friday to put
on a rock concert at Fitzwilly's
Bar. Tell everyone you know to put down whatever they may be
doing and come on out.

The Dutch website, Bluescruisers.net
has issued a review of our "Milk Money" cd. You can read
it HERE
in German. Below is a rough translation:
The Mighty Orq – Milk
Monkey characteristic marketing, 2005
Musician: Mighty Orq: guitars, vocals Jessica
wants: bass, backing vocals mat Johnson: drums, backing vocals
Maker: Bryan Jones, Dennis Chenault, The
Mighty Orq game duration: 55:32 minutes
Tracklist: Devil At Your cheek Unholy Getdown
Heaven Sent Sweet Inbetween Carry Me home served´t Wanna Long
Gone She Lets Me Lie Won´t Let Go Walk Away Weak Ender 2 a.
ms.
The third publication the out of Houston,
Texas, coming Power-trio. Skirt/Southern skirt, one will like take
commandments perhaps also the term blues skirt into the mouth.
Supported Mighty Orq will want of Jessica
at the bass and mat Johnson at the percussion, that deliver duchweg
high-value quality.
„Devil At Your cheek“ God life
is not unconditionally directive for the CD. A stood skirt number
that is offered here as an Intro to „“ to Milk Monkey.
There lets me „Unholy Getdown“ already sooner aufhorchen.
The Track begins gives well groovend, Mighty Orq its first blew-blew
guitar solo to the best. Johnson and wants to deliver singed the
total over an almost already hypnotic groovenden rhythm carpet,
that deviates only in the refrain something of the scheme. In the
third becomes singed the fulminante pressure the first both then
singe taken out. „Heaven Sent“ is itself one sooner
Midtempo-number, in that Mighty Orq (what a Psydonym) also than
a skilled, print out strong singer erweißt. In the means part
again an Orq´sches guitar solo, diesesmal somewhat more shortly
grasped. That singed shines through a lovely Outro.
Just as beautifully like „Heaven Sent“
ends, begins got into singed „Sweet Inbetween“, Mighty
Orq with a lulling Slidegitarren to that. The Track becomes again
and again through violent, loud outbreaks getuned. In between the
sensitive Slidegitarre repeats. Again a blew-blew solo. Of the rhythm
guitar is stamped the ballad „Carry Me home“. Again
a similarly gestrickter singed comes like „Heaven Sent“,
the refrain part a small little more violently. Also „Lone
Gone“ fits singe into this category. With a beautiful solo
„disperses“ Mighty Orq also this Track. There one comes
already somehow into the dreaming.
Jimi Hendrix lets served greet in the dragging
„´t Wanna“ entirely heftigt. Is stamped is „Won´t
Let Go“ by distorted guitar, is held is that also in a dragging
Midtempo. Beautiful melody … „Won´t Let Go“
and the following „Walk Away“ can be assigned then also
from my viewpoint the blues skirt. A further example that Mighty
Orq likes the WahWah- pedal and pulls the strings in the solo to
the attack.
With boogiemäßigen snatch up is
spiced „Weak Ender“. But somehow I have singed shoots
such one yet previously already on the album belonged the ballad
„2 a. ms.“ the third The Mighty Orq CD „Milk Monkey“.
Orq places its gesanglichen qualities for the repeated time under
proof. Hey, there is singed no guitar solo on this.
„Milk Monkey“ a pressure full,
variants empires and here and there also sensitive CD that offers
much Southernrock-shares is certainly. It gives itself that as often
as quoted dust dry, erdigen, on emerged Texas path moving energy
store skirt. At many places, some come few bluesrockige elements
to the light.
A huge thanks to the ASTROS

This was beyond our control as to why we didn't play.
Check out another German review of our
album Milk Money that the fine folks at www.sonny1968.de
wrote. You can read it online HERE.
If you can't read German, here is a translated version:
MIGHTY ORQ, a power-trio out
of Houston, TX named after the guitarist and singer, has just released
their third album, “Milk Money.” During the twelve impressive
numbers, Orq – accompanied by bassist Jessica Will and drummer
Matt Johnson – alternate between powerfully raw grooves, and
more sensitive ballads. Mainly responsible for these characteristics
are the natural interplay between the guitar and raw-yet-sensitive
vocals of the frontman. There are quiet – very emotional –
moments like the soulful ballad "Heaven Sent" and the
final track (and my personal favorite) "2 a.m." that Jessica
refines with her breathy and delicate background vocals. But also
the bear strong Southern-Groover "Sweet Inbetween" or
the staight-ahead "Weak Ender" strike right to the heart
of the blues-rock matter. Result: A must-purchase CD for any and
all music fans!!
Please check out our SCHEDULE

We would first like to apologize for
the cancellations of the previous week's gigs. Hurricane
Rita had other plans for us. We would like to thank the gods

the full force of Miss Rita. We would also like to send our best

forget, we will be playing the "Bringin' Back the Big Easy"
benefit on October 8th for the Hurricane Katrina survivors. Check
out their site HERE.
Here is another German review of our
album, "Milk Money". This one
was written by the fine folks at Blues
News Magazine:
Here he is again - our old buddy,
the blues rock. It was him who once attracted us to smoky blues
clubs and made us search for old originals in our lofts. Now, in
the meantime the charm of this new thing is gone and we act like
a swabian housewife,
who always finds something to clean, so we are used to grumble.
We love the blues rock fossils and we put down every new band with
all the same banalities. Not innovative ...and ...and ...and. so
we enjoy to critizize, but are prisoners of our own phrases.
Now, that has to change. lets go: the texas trio The Mighty Orq
convinces with straight texas blues rock(devil at your back) with
occasional southernrock influence (weak ender), beautiful ballads(heaven
sent, 2 am) and radio friendly songs(carry me home). References
to srv, jimi hendrix
(dont wanna) and others are included. No matter, bandleader mighty
orq, who some might remember from his time with the tony vega band,
convinces with his driving guitar solos and his powerful playing.
jessica will on bass and the overgrown matt johnson
on drums are working on a solid groove. This
all is packed in rough sound and makes us want more of it. Somewhere
on the net we found out this texas trio will come to germany in
december. Until then, we
have to be happy with the canned music, before we can go on pilgrimage
again to the smoky blues clubs. see you, folks!
Thanks a ton guys!
So, back to normal as usual this week.

Some crazy "Orqheads" from

cd. You can either go HERE
to read it in German, or scan through it below:
Can blues so far dry and nevertheless sensitive be? Yes,
it can can, and like it that! „Milk Money“, the new
disk of the guitar wizard Mighty Orq and its troop around bass Jessica
wants and percussion mat Johnson, shows goes how it. Disposition
quite dirty, an enormously raues timbre on the part of the Frontorks
and a type to stretched, that so what is of lecherous, that one
has lull let himself in zero comma respect of the twelve compositions
on „Milk Money“. It is simple a bliss to listen to the
spartan instrumentierten and altogether very quiet blues of this
trio and to be fallen entirely into the relaxed sounds. The edges
to obtain out of the slightest means, the maximal result, is it
that so valuably makes this disk. A little Stevie Ray Vaughan, a
little Hendrix-pod and the feel for crazy melody how it has only
Bruce Springsteen in this form, are united here and offered in beautiful
manner. And in contrast to so many other, of me of the often criticized
album also the raue atmosphere agrees here; I live balanced out
became radiate singe really zero of doubt, that this disk, for exactly
that like „Won' t Let Go“ and the slow „Heaven
Sent“ from. And also that almost already hymnische „Long
Gone“, that live certainly also according to mitgesungen becomes,
sound, would be made as it for the stages of the local clubs –
very strongly!
I also can hardly say agrees what felled
me now best, therefore, for on „Milk Money“ simply of
ahead until behind all. The formidable guitar game, the wuchtige
however quite dry bass and that brilliant percussion working hides
stratified arranged, in addition that solos and the smoky song.
The Mighty Orq delivered with this album for my taste the blues-album
of the year, and because the volumes announced to come shortly before
the new year yet to Germany, stands for me also already firmly,
which concert I yet will visit this year. Really lecherous disk!
"Really lecherous disk", hippest quote
ever! Thanks so much!

Pulsierender blues-skirt, highly intensively, with very much Groove,
yet more guitar and each quantity Spirit. He who endures it to the
next JOE BONAMASSA or INDIGENOUS album no longer, must want itself
very quickly the debut of the Americans around singer, guitarist

Below is a rough, (and we mean ROUGH), translation of it from Freetranslation.com:
Bear-strong, clenched blues based
skirt /blues skirt power from Houston/Texas! The great, trio designated
us their front one "Mighty Orq" rushes like at formal events into
our blues skirt' n roll heart and to tills fell intensity, fell
made emotion and with Groove and powerful energy. From this "The
Mighty Orq" cook their own, dragging along "Sueppchen"! Pulsating
one, concise bass lines of bass Jessica, marvelously groovendes
and variable Drumming of the great schlagzeugers wants dully Johnson
and the magic, pressureful, fulminante and variant-avenged, at any
Time flaming guitar play of the master "Mighty Orq", in connection
with it it excellentem singing, determines the picture of the eleven
throughout first-class singe. One feels the strength and the intensity
to gauged fell singe minute, with which the volume of play joy,
passion places itself and with large musical authority to this dragging
along.

things to say about our gig at the showcase last Sunday. You can
check it out HERE.
If the link doesn't work for you, here is what he said:
"You wouldn't confuse blues-rocker
the Mighty Orq with punk of any kind. You might be forgiven, however,
for thinking that he is one of Duane and Greg Allman's long-lost
brothers. His guitar-playing has improved by leaps and bounds over
the last couple of years, but for me it has always been his voice
-- deep, soulful and majestic -- that has set him apart, and under
the soaring ceiling at the Twelve Spot it billowed forth, well,
mightily. And when he averred that his is no longer a straight-up
blues band a week ago in this paper, he spoke the truth. Today,
his trio sounds more like a blues-steeped rock band like ZZ Top,
the Arc Angels".
THANKS JOHN!!!

Some
very cool "Orqheads" in Germany at Rocktimes.de have
written an amazing review of our new album "Milk Money".
You can read it by clicking HERE.
Below is a rough translation of it:
'Ne lecherous guitar cracks
me toward, played of Mighty Orq. I do not mean be similar now (only)
the volumes, but rather also the guitarist with that (something
strange) name. Mighty stand two Mitstreiter to the side: Jessica
wants at the bass and mat Johnson at the Schießbude. Three
persons and this hot texan blues skirt chapel is finished. The troop
is yes hot comes, for next to pretty blues played dirty the volumes
also with much Verve and very melodiebetonten numbers to the listeners.
"Devil At Your cheek" opens the Zwölfender and next
to the already mentioned XXL-Gitarrenintro, the title stretched
until - even until a crazy refrain worries for Wohlfühschauer.
Equally after that wieselt Mighty over the strings, Jessica drives
bone dry bass courses by. "Unholy Getdown" begins groovig,
rolls again on a strong refrain to and then it happens: the guitar
hascht after effects and it gives a crazy blew-blew enclosure during
bass and Drums of loosely far grooven. "Heaven Sent" fells
sooner under the category of 'lecherous blues in order to dance'
with the dearest. Almost in any case, for the guitar fan its attention
will dedicate yet sooner the deliciously played guitar. Sorry Girls
*g*. Muggy, out of the sumps coming slidet "Sweet Inbetween"
into the events and spreads snatch up a proper portion Delta, again
and again through almost brachiale 'entsumpft'. Very differently
"Carry Me home" : retained start, Vocals that go under
the skin, perfect Backings and the guitar may spice harmonious accords
with dirty solos. Isses Jimi or yet sooner Cream? T Wanna "served'
comes" at both remembering retroperfekt out of the diaphragms.
"Long Gone" lets something time for having a breather
- blues with sparse, but for this very reason tiefgehendem guitar
solo. The sequence number "She Lets Me Lie" offers snatch
up dirty blues skirt;, are Backings (makes itself always good, 'ne
woman in the Line-up to have) simply so how one wishes for blues-skirt.
No experiments! Rhythmic and with perfectly distorted guitar "Won'
t Let Go starts". Prettily, like the bass 'runs', gives starts
easy hall depth and then a crazy guitar. Extra dry and dusty, never
forgetting that the listeners stand somewhere also on Melodik. Perfectly
made. "Walk Away" offers something of everything, sets
however one thereon: blew-blew solos that bring also an air pedal
to the air guitar now into the game. Oh man, what a lecherous number.
Three men bring my unit to the Kochen........... No time to the
Durchatmen, "Weak Ender" 'rockbluest' merciless forwards.
Almost unimaginable that bass and Drums can put a so thick foundation.
One assumes there more instruments in the blues-skirt-house building.
An ape strong, bone dry, muggy, hard and yet always harmonious blues-skirt
disk concludes "2 A. MS." how one gets it only rarely
to ear. How the management announced us, will come the volumes to
Germany in December. People go!
A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR ALL
OF YOUR SUPPORT!! YOU are the reason we do this!!

on their store/site. Once again, if you can read German, you can

If you can't read German, you can check out another confusing translation
from our friends at www.freetranslation.com
below:
Bear strong, form into a ball
blues-based Rock-/Bluesrock-Power out of Houston/Texas! The magnificent,
after its front man "Mighty Orq" (certainly a nickname)
trio named rustles like a hurricane in our blues-skirt' n roll-heart
and tills full intensity, full emotion and with much Groove and
powerful energy a grounds, that the elements of classic Seventies
(blues skirt of the sign Hendrix, Cream or Free, with texan Roots
of such sizes as well as Stevie Ray Vaughan or ZZ Top, modern Könnern
as well as Indigenous, Joe Bonamassa To combine straighten units
ala Cry Of Love or Screamin Cheetah Wheelies seems. From that "The
Mighty Orq" cook its characteristic, entraining "Süppchen"!
Pulsierende, bass lines precise of bass Jessica wants, wonderfully
groovendes and variable Drumming of the magnificent Schlagzeugers
mat Johnson and the magic, pressure full, fulminante and variants
empires, guitar games flaming always (in part also sharp Slide and
crazy blew-blew-solos) the master "Mighty Orq", in connection
with its excellentem song, determine singe the picture of the eleven
throughout first-class. There is no end typesetter! The Sound is
satisfied, dirty, rau and simultaneously prettily drily! At the
same time never becomes absolutely reasoned one Songstruktur and
one well hang remaining Melodik except respect let. All matches
prime! Often that are singe of the Speed here not at all once so
highly, but for that they stand permanently and steam! One feels
to each minute the power and the intensity with which the volumes
of full game joy, passion and with more largely musical competence
this entraining places singe themselves. Oppressive Groove and powerfully
simmering guitar courses galvanize the listener in shortest time.
Like in the grandiose Opener "Devil at your cheek", with
which they play in the deed, as they would have sit the devil in
the nape. A more biting, rauer, of cooking, fiery more stamped snatch
up suffered, easily Boogie-angehauchter blues skirts with crazy
Groove, discreet Stevie Ray Vaughan-Flair, a class melody and more
sheerly more burning guitar. That is the pure blues skirt-joy! And
it goes so further: again a Groove driving wonderful there out of
dirty, careless, almost already "cool" Gitarrenriffs and
-licks, driving bass and knackiges, direct Drumming accompany the
fantastic "Unholy getdown", in that one and -stretched
do hardly withdraw can itself from a rhythmic with seesaws. An unleashed
contains blew blew in the Break--solo! With the following "Heaven
sent", the "Orqs" present a carrying away, emotional
lectured blues skirt-ballad that never leaves however the erdigen,
rockigen, rauen Texas-path in spite of a magnificent melody. An
immense energy radiates in spite of the balladesken disposition.
The magnificent guitar solo stands, although very eingängig,
regular under power current. Lovely! The strong, knackige Roots-Bluesrocker
"Sweet inbetween" with its "wild", but never
structure loose, wonderful rückgekoppelten guitar enclosures
pendelt exciting between loudly and softly there and here to be
made during the loose, wonderfully melodic "Carry me homes"
for the "blues radio" how seems. Magnificently also the
fat "Hendrix meets Cream" -like certain by powerfully
simmering guitars "served' t wanna", that sharp, dirty,
of guitar standing permanently under current accompanied skirt-blues
"Won' t let go" (would err, the cooking guitar solo),
the groovende Seventies-Bluesrocker "Walk away" with its
strong song and that lovely in addition suitable, guitar-accompaniment
of used, glowing parallel, like also that prettily straighte, Southernflair
full sticking Texas-skirts "Weak ender"! 55 1/2 minutes
long inspired, more satisfied, groovender, more cooking, Texas-/Gitarren-Bluesrock
of full fires! "The Mighty Orq sets the Bluerock-world on fire"!
We sign that!

The Mighty Orq - Milk Money (2005) ***** here comes a 2-man
/ 1-woman troop out of Texas with the best CD, that is us 2005 previously
untergekommen. [Thunderhawks and Dead Rebels: behind engage!] Does
- bass-Grooves of Jessica want, really so is named that go directly
into the belly, song of Mighty Orq (whether that!?) like Raging
Slab or story villas, guitar and solos (also of Orq) like Billy
gibbons, Stevie Ray Vaughan or Hendrix-inspires - like of Eric Gales
confessed - in personnel union. Drum-Sound (mat Johnson) and production:
bone dry and precise like a clock work, must sound BLUES-SKIRT if
it wants to reach today the fans.

We would like to express our deepest
sympathies to the families and friends of guitarist "Dimebag"
Darrell. If you haven't read about the tragedy that happened last
night in Ohio, you can read about it here.
Dimebag was the guitarist for
Pantera, and was currently fronting his new band Damageplan.
Pantera was a huge influence on us as musicians. Not only musically,
but just in his attitude. Plus, he was from Texas. So, in the words
of Dimebag, "Practice your sack off!".
RIP Dimebag
